Uncrossing: What is it?

What even is Uncrossing?

One of my best selling and most used products is my Uncrossing Ritual Oil. This oil is advertised as a way to remove energetic interference, clear spiritual blockages, and reclaim your power. But what does that mean? Let’s explore what Uncrossing is, what it means and where it comes from.

The history of Uncrossing rituals

Traditionally a Hoodoo term but this type of working is present in most, if not all, spiritual paths and cultures. The original use of uncrossing was (from my understanding through research) focused around the removal of energy placed on you that you did not want, by another person – usually a magic practitioner or someone who employed one. The type of uncrossing rituals varied across cultures but some examples include reciting specific psalms, bathing in herb infused water, or lighting a reversing candle.

Use in modern day rituals

Uncrossing, to the modern day western practitioner is still typically described as the removal of jinxes, negativity and blockages placed on you by others. That being said, self crossing is certainly a thing and is actually a very common occurrence these days.

You can cross yourself in a multitude of ways including;

  • Not keeping true to a promise that you made with yourself
  • Negative self talk, internally or externally
  • Performing behaviours that lower your energy, such as, drinking alcohol, smoking, not sleeping, etc.

Before jumping to the conclusion that you have been jinxed or hexed by another practitioner, consult divination to see if there is anything you did to contribute to the crossing(s).

This kind of working is also helpful for people working through trauma, bullying or gossip as it removes the strings people hold over you and helps you see more clearly who those people truly are and what their intentions may actually be.

How I use Uncrossing in my practice

Uncrossing is the style of energy work that I do the most. It is my go to type of working to do when someone comes to me saying they feel stagnant in life or like they have a hex placed on them. It is also the first step I take when dealing with negative or stagnant energy in my own life. Uncrossing to me is removing what is not needed and making room to attract what is.

My Uncrossing Ritual Oil

I made this oil using banishing materials to remove crossings put on the user by themselves or others, and clear energy channels to allow energy and blessings to flow into their life or situation. It’s an ideal companion for anyone in need of spiritual release, clarity, and fresh energetic movement. It’s a magnificent energy reset as it not only removes blockages but also encourages alignment with Source or your true will.

Ways to use my Uncrossing Ritual oil

  • Anoint yourself, tools, or candles before ritual or spellwork to remove anything that could cause the working to be hindered
  • Add a few drops to Epsom salt baths for a full-body energetic cleanse, I recommend you do this on a regular basis
  • Use on doors, windows, or spiritual tools as part of cleansing and shielding rituals
  • Apply to your hands, rub together to activate the oil, and pass over your energy field with the intention of brushing off any attachments, blockages, crossings and general energy not in alignment with your goals

There are so many ways you can use uncrossing oil – it really is my go-to ritual oil. If you are looking for more ways to use the oil, please reach out!
